A school in San Diego has unveiled what may be one of the most advanced AI deployments in education anywhere in the world: a ChatGPT-powered humanoid robot with a price tag of $500,000, designed to simultaneously serve students as teacher, counsellor, translator, and college planning advisor.

The robot uses OpenAI's ChatGPT as its conversational backbone, enabling it to answer academic questions, provide emotional support guidance, communicate with students in multiple languages, and help navigate college application processes — functions that typically require several different human staff members.
