Siya Goyal Taken to Lohagad Fort as Pune Police Recreate Ketan's Murder Scene

Pune police escorted Siya Goyal, the prime accused in the Lohagad Fort murder case, back to the hilltop fort on Sunday to recreate the crime scene in which her fiancé Ketan Chaudhary was killed. The exercise, a standard part of criminal investigation, is aimed at verifying the sequence of events as described by the accused and identifying gaps or inconsistencies in her account.

Investigators have been piecing together a disturbing picture of alleged premeditation. Reports indicate that Goyal's lover had visited the fort up to ten hours before the murder, in what police are calling a reconnaissance of the site. Investigators are also examining claims that Goyal wanted what she described as "three years of freedom" — a detail that has emerged as a possible motive in the case and has been widely reported by national outlets including NDTV and India Today.

The relationship at the centre of the case involved a cricket connection that eventually spiralled into a murder probe, with Goyal allegedly in a parallel relationship even as she was engaged to Chaudhary. A prior trip to Udaipur by Goyal's alleged lover has also come under scrutiny as part of the broader investigation into the planning behind the crime.

The crime-scene recreation at Lohagad — a historic Maratha fort near Pune — has intensified public and media focus on the case. Police are expected to file a detailed chargesheet as the investigation progresses, with forensic and digital evidence being examined alongside the recreated sequence of events.
